HSE First Aid At Work (FAW).
The First Aid at Work course is designed to train individuals and company staff that requires HSE approved first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations.
This course will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient who is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services. It also covers other topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR and other first aid health and safety information.
The First Aid at Work course is designed to meet the requirements of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for First Aid in the Workplace. This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools.
The initial course is delivered over a minimum of 3 days (18 contact hours). The 2 day re-qualification course covers the complete syllabus and updates any changes to procedures or protocols and must be completed within ninety days prior to the expiry of the original certification. The certification is valid for three years. Each student will receive a wall certificate and wallet card in recognition of their successful completion of the course. It is strongly recommended by the HSE that that an annual refresher course is attended for a skills update. This update is conducted over 3 hours.
